Lanham, MD – The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) announced today that Astec Inc. of Chattanooga, Tenn., is the winner of NAPA’s Outstanding Web Site Award for  2009 in the associate member division. The company received its award on Wednesday,  January 20, during the Association's 55th Annual Meeting in Maui, Hawaii.

The award recognizes Web site designs that promote the use of asphalt and the  asphalt industry.

Geared to hot and warm mix asphalt facility owners and operators, Astec Inc.'s Web site (www.astecinc.com) takes advantage of a variety of Web technologies to present large amounts of material about the company's products and services. Using photographs, videos and animations, it allows the visitors to quickly find the information they are looking for.  The Web page prominently features news items about the company, and the new gallery feature provides visitors with photographs of Astec's various locations and plants as well videos demonstrating the company’s capabilities.  The home page also links to Astec’s used equipment listings.

The National Asphalt Pavement Association is the only trade association that exclusively represents the interests of the asphalt pavement material producer contractor on the national level with Congress, government agencies, and other national trade and business organizations. NAPA supports an active research program designed to improve the quality of asphalt pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, airports, and environmental and recreational facilities. The association provides technical, educational, and marketing materials and information to its members; supplies product information to users and specifiers of paving materials; and conducts training courses. The association, which counts more than 1,100 companies as its members, was founded in 1955.
